Al mexicano le gusta el arte nada más que 

es diferente el poder adquisitivo, te lo juro que si el mexicano tuviera poder adquisitivo y lo dejaran de estar bombardeando de basura en la televisión se acercaría más al arte.

El pasado viernes 9 de julio quedó inaugurada "Psicodelia Bestiaria" del pintor y grabador  Lottas. Interesante obra que llama la atención inmediatamente por su creatividad al mostrar imágenes de animales llenos de color y formas geométricas en soportes de gran formato. Haciendo referencia por decir así al mundo de la era de la Psicodelia de los años sesentas, pero conceptualizado a la mitología mexicana como el mismo autor afirma; "traté de integrar ambos mundos" esta exhibición podrá disfrutarla hasta el 25 de agosto 2021.

A continuación compartimos a usted la entrevista a Lottas que muy amablemente brindo a este este medio informativo:

-Ok, ésta serie, ésta colección está inspirada en los animales y 

en la psicodelia, bueno le puse Bestiaria 

porque así era como le ponían a la colección de animales en la edad medía, 

psicodelia bueno por todo el rollo de los trips de las plantas sagradas y

 la geometría sagrada, traté de integrar ambos mundos y fue así que nació esta colección.

¿Desde cuando tenías esta idea? 

-Pues ya había hecho algo de este tipo de juegos geométricos con la gráfica, lo que hice fue sacar las líneas y diseños que tenía en la gráfica para plasmarlos en la pintura con los colores de la psicodelia, nada más que no tan vivos, solo subidos que no fueran tan agresivos visualmente, que pudiera existir un poco más la armonía visual.

-¿Se puede decir que lleva propuesta de la mitología mexicana?

- Pues sí, también lleva rollos mexicanos digamos que el venado por ejemplo esta inspirado en todo el rollo de los Wirikutas, del venado como animal sagrado, las líneas, los círculos y varios colores en una sola figura es así como parte del viaje.

-¿Cómo percibes a la gente cuando observan tus obras? 

Esto es como decías es muy subjetivo, uno plasma la idea, imaginando una cosa y el que lo ve y esto es lo interesante porque hay veces que yo he hecho obra y

 a mi me las han interpretado de diferente forma y digo ¡wow! si cierto hay algo por ahí y yo nunca lo vi y eso está padre.

-¿Cuánto tardas en hacer una obra de este formato?

-Me tardo como una semana pero trabajando todo el día 12 horas, 14 horas o más. Porque aunque están un poco simples el trazar, dibujar, meter una 

capa de color, una veladura y luego tienes que meter otra veladura, veladura sobre el mismo. Pudiera trabajar rápido si usara stencils y aerosolespero eso es otra técnica

 y cómo está hecho a pincel y acrílico para no salir primero como haces el dibujo y después vas sobre el dibujo pasando las veladuras por veladuras hasta que puedes agarrar que salga el color por completo y no quede como medio transparentoso e

ntonces por eso lo tardado.

-En la región donde vives transita mucho turista Europeo ¿les gusta tu obra? 

-Sí, he tenido la suerte que les gusta y cuando me voy a Europa a exponer allá también tienen buen recibimiento.

-No, yo creo es

-¿Cuantas veces haz expuesto aquí en la isla?

-Ya llevo bastantes, a mi me gusta mucho exponer aquí en el museo de la isla es como si fuera mi casa, bueno así lo siento. Fue el primer espacio que me abrió las puertas cuando llegue por primera vez a la rivera maya, me dijeron que hay un museo en Cozumel dije; ¿en serio? entonces aquella vez enrolle un grabado lo metí en un tubo, cruce en un ferry y lo primero que hice fue venir aquí al museo tuve la suerte de ver a Isela y platique con ella, ni siquiera tenía mi carpeta, ni nada, le mostré el grabado y le dije; mira eso es lo que hago y muchas cosas, fue muy chafa de mi parte como me presente, Isela fue muy amable y de ahí pudimos armar la primera exposición, Sako también ya estaba aquí. 

-¿Te sientes complacido con tu obras? 

-Sí, bueno no siempre, es raro hay veces que estoy super emocionado me gusta y luego pasa el tiempo y digo ya no me gustó y luego me vuelve a gustar. de repente pasas de un estilo y te cansas de hacer una cosa y empiezas a experimentar otra. Tratas de hacer como colecciones, cuando cambias de propuesta tratar de sacar una colección para trabajar bien esa propuesta, pulirla.

-¿Tu especialidad es el grabado? 

-Pues yo empecé en la pintura pero me clave mucho en el grabado, me gusta muchísimo el grabado también la pintura, ahorita no hecho grabado he hecho mucha pintura.

-¿Tomaste el taller de grabado del Maestro Shinzaburo Takeda aquí en el museo?

- Sí vine a visitarlo, vi que tenía su taller de grabado aquí vine a saludarlo e imprimir un grabado con él, es un maestro por eso vine a verlo, quería conocerlo en persona ya lo conocía a él por los medios gráficos, hace su bienal Takeda, es muy reconocido en Oaxaca y a nivel nacional e internacional, el ver que estaba aquí para mi fue una super oportunidad, sí fue muy gratificante.

-¿Algo más que quieras decir?

- Muchísimas gracias espero que puedan venir a ver esta exposición, que sea de su agrado y sino también digan que es lo que no les gustó.

Last Friday, July 9, "Psicodelia Bestiaria" by the painter and engraver Lottas was inaugurated. Interesting work that immediately catches the eye for its creativity in showing images of animals full of color and geometric shapes in large format supports. Referring so to the world of the Psychedelic era of the sixties, but conceptualized to the Mexican mythology as the author himself states; "I tried to integrate both worlds". Next we share with you the interview to Lottas that he kindly gave to this informative media:

-Ok, this series, this collection is inspired by animals and psychedelia, well I called it Bestiaria because that's how they called the collection of animals in the Middle Ages, psychedelia because of the whole thing of the sacred plants and sacred geometry, I tried to integrate both worlds and that's how this collection was born.

-Since when did you have this idea? 

-Well, I had already done some of this kind of geometric games with graphics, what I did was to take the lines and designs I had in the graphics to translate them into painting with psychedelic colors, just not so vivid, just bright colors that were not so visually aggressive, so that there could be a little more visual harmony.

-Can it be said that it has a proposal of Mexican mythology?

- Well yes, it also has Mexican scrolls, let's say that the deer for example is inspired by the whole Wirikutas scroll, the deer as a sacred animal, the lines, the circles and several colors in a single figure, it's like that as part of the journey.

-How do you perceive people when they observe your works? 

This is as you were saying, it is very subjective, one captures the idea, imagining something and the one who sees it and this is the interesting thing because there are times when I have made works and they have been interpreted in a different way and I say wow, there is something out there and I never saw it and that's cool.

-How long does it take you to make a work of this format?

-It takes me about a week, but working all day 12 hours, 14 hours or more. Because even though they are a bit simple, tracing, drawing, putting a layer of color, a glaze and then you have to put another glaze, glaze on top of it. I could work fast if I used stencils and aerosols, but that is another technique and how it is done with brush and acrylic so it doesn't come out first as you do the drawing and then you go over the drawing passing the glazes by glazes until you can get the color to come out completely and it doesn't look half transparent, so that's why it takes so long.

-In the region where you live there are a lot of European tourists, do they like your work? 

-Yes, I've been lucky enough that they like it and when I go to Europe to exhibit there they also get a good reception.

-Do you think Europeans value these types of images more?

-No, I think it's the same. Mexicans like art, it's just that their purchasing power is different, I swear that if Mexicans had purchasing power and they stopped bombarding them with garbage on television, they would come closer to art.

-How many times have you exhibited here on the island?

-I've already exhibited quite a few times, I really like to exhibit here at the museum on the island, it's as if it were my home, well, that's how I feel. It was the first place that opened its doors to me when I first came to the Mayan Riviera, they told me there was a museum in Cozumel and I said, "Really? Then that time I rolled up an engraving and put it in a tube, I crossed on a ferry and the first thing I did was to come here to the museum, I was lucky enough to see Isela and I talked to her, I didn't even have my portfolio or anything, I showed her the engraving and told her; look that's what I do and many things, it was very cool of me to introduce myself, Isela was very kind and from there we were able to put together the first exhibition, Sako was already here too. 

-Do you feel pleased with your work? 

-Yes, well not always, it's strange, there are times when I'm super excited, I like it and then time goes by and I say I don't like it anymore and then I like it again. suddenly you go from one style and you get tired of doing one thing and you start experimenting with another. You try to make collections, when you change your proposal, try to bring out a collection to work well on that proposal, to polish it.

-Is your specialty engraving? 

-Well, I started in painting but I'm very interested in engraving, I really like engraving and also painting, now I don't do engraving, I've done a lot of painting.

-Did you take the engraving workshop of Master Shinzaburo Takeda here at the museum?

- Yes I came to visit him, I saw that he had his engraving workshop here, I came to greet him and print an engraving with him, he is a master, that's why I came to see him, I wanted to meet him in person, I already knew him through the graphic media, he does his biennial Takeda, he is very well known in Oaxaca and at a national and international level, to see that he was here for me was a super opportunity, yes it was very gratifying.
