- ¿Tu nombre por favor?

-Kenya Rosas

-¿Tu puesto aquí en Estación Comunitaria Mares Circulares Cozumel?

-Coordinadora general del proyecto

-La Estación Comunitaria, Mares Circulares Cozumel es un espacio abierto para el emprendimiento verde, va ser un espacio el cual  tenemos dos componentes por una parte el componente comunitario el cual vamos a llevar a cabo  actividades diversas con la comunidad con una línea de cultura y educación ambiental y por otra parte tenemos el componente de reciclable que va hacer el funcionamiento de un centro de acopio justo en este espacio físico conviviendo ambos componentes justamente  para que la comunidad entienda como funciona un centro de acopio y como pueden  llevar acabo iniciativas aquí en dentro de la estación.

-¿Este es un proyecto nuevo para Cozumel pero ya hay en otros estados de la república?

-Si, de hecho la iniciativa esta sucediendo a nivel nacional, tenemos una estación comunitaria en Baja California Sur "Mares Circulares" y hay uh híbrido en el centro del país en Pachuca Hidalgo "Ciudades Circulares"

-¿Cómo surgió la iniciativa de quién fue la iniciativa?  

-Claro, somos varios actores tanto de sectores privados como  organizaciones de la sociedad civil. Unimos esfuerzos porque nos dimos cuenta de la necesidad que hay justamente de permear la parte cultural, si bien ya existen centros de acopio uno de los principales objetivos y el valor de agregar este proyecto es enfocarnos en la parte cultural y educacional, no se tratada solamente de decirles a las personas puedes venir y deposita aquí tus materiales sino también que puedan entender el impacto social, el impacto ambiental, más allá del impacto económico y beneficio económico que trae consigo el reciclado.

-¿La idea fundamental es la toma de consciencia de las personas hacia la problemática que hay?

- Exactamente totalmente de acuerdo, es el punto, el valor que tenemos en la estación, desde que inicio la planeación del proyecto, desde el momento de la concepción ya planeábamos la parte comunitaria y la parte social, acercarnos con la comunidad comentarles la importancia de tener en sus vidas, de tener el habito de reciclar y no solo de reciclado sino de cuidado del ambiente en general. reciclar es un escalón en la parte en la gestión de los residuos, claramente no es el primer eslabón y es muy importante que las personas entiendan de donde viene el reciclaje, que otras cosas pueden reciclar en donde nos encontramos a nivel isla y también es un gran reto hacer esto, la isla  al ser un lugar limitado tiene sus propias problemáticas y así con este contexto necesitamos plantear ciertas soluciones.

-¿En la Paz Baja California Sur hay también otra Estación Comunitaria Mares Circulares, y por ser la primera estación, qué tiempo llevan ahí, cómo les a ido, cuáles han sido los resultados?  

- Sí. ahí se inauguró hace un mes y medio, dos meses, la respuesta a sido buena, también algo innovador en el norte, parece que aquí no hay este tipo de programas, a habido  de proyectos que conjunten la parte comunitaria, de la parte de reciclaje, a tenido una buena aceptación de parte de la comunidad, claramente vienen muchas dudas, de las personas que  están como adaptándose, también de como es ésta dinámica, y a su vez también este proyecto se esta adaptando al contexto local en La Paz y en su caso aquí en Cozumel.

-¿Cuál es la edad que aceptan más este proyecto en La Paz?

- La verdad que habido diversidad de personas, en nuestra planeación interna es incluir a todo público, nos interesa trabajar con niñez, con instituciones la juventud y a su vez las personas adultas, consideraría que es muy diverso la cantidad de público que llega a la estación.

-¿Los niños están más receptivos de esta nueva forma de usar el reciclado?

-Si, la niñez esta muy atenta en todo, ellos perciben perfectamente las problemáticas que ven en donde viven, en las escuelas, las comunidades, las casas, en sus localidades, entonces ellas, ellos son muy participativos, si realmente te acercas con ellos hasta te explican, es un proyecto que también se va a enfocar en la participación de las niñas y niños. como comenté antes ellos van a terminando enseñando a nosotros aquí en la estación.

Agradable espacio para la cultura y educación ambiental

-¿Se van a acercar a las escuelas al sistema educativo público y privado a dar sus charlas?

-Sí, de hecho estamos en pláticas con instituciones públicas y lo haremos en su momento con las privadas, porque nos interesa permear la parte educacional y la parte componente reciclable hacer instituciones que albergan muchas personas que generan una gran cantidad de residuos por lo cual el interés de la estación apoyarles en esta recolección de materiales reciclados . 

- ¿En el sector de hacer arte con materiales reciclados como lo tiene contemplado como lo van a funcionar, el proceso? 

-Este es un espacio abierto al arte, al emprendimiento verde contamos con un espacio físico donde se puede realizar platicas, charlas talleres de otras organizaciones que vengan muestren el trabajo que han hecho que vayan empezando en este proceso de emprendimiento y que digan necesitamos de un espacio físico, de ser escuchados vistos mediante las redes sociales estaremos publicando estas iniciativas para que tengan un mayor alcance y también desde nosotros hay algo que les podamos ayudar todos son bienvenidos.

- Este espacio es muy amplio ¿pueden hacer exposiciones  de arte, están abiertos que la comunidad de artistas de Cozumel vengan a exhibir y vender sus obras referentes a estos temas? 

-Va a ser un espacio abierto a la exhibición  de arte, que muestren lo que han trabajado, como le comentaba ya hemos tenido acercamientos con otras organizaciones y  próximamente en agosto va a ver diversas actividades y eventos en que estas otras organizaciones pueden mostrar el arte y emprendimientos que estén trabajando. 

-¿Quieres agregar algo más a la entrevista?

-Quiero invitarles al próximo evento Festival Mares Circulares, que se llevar acabo el próximo 30 de julio a a partir de las 5 de la tarde aquí en nuestro espacio físico que esta entre la 120 y calle ave 1 sur, Colonia  Juan Bautista de la Vega  e invitarles que empiecen a recolectar y preparar sus materiales, porque va a realizarse muchas dinámicas relativas con el acopio de los materiales y de un intercambio.

Approaching companies or organizations that generate an environmental culture is always productive for any society in the world, such as the Mares Circulares Cozumel Community Station.  The activities they organize have great value and human sense, for this reason it is of great community relevance, we must support their work, their effort to continue in force what is most sought after; the life of the environment. 

Interview with Kenia Rosas general coordinator of the Mares Circulares Cozumel Community Station

-General Project Coordinator

-The Community Station, Circular Seas Cozumel is an open space for green entrepreneurship, it will be a space in which we have two components on the one hand the community component which we will carry out various activities with the community with a line of culture and environmental education and on the other hand we have the recyclable component that will make the operation of a collection center right in this physical space coexisting both components just so that the community understands how a collection center works and how they can carry out initiatives here in the station.

-Is this a new project for Cozumel but there are already in other states of the republic?

-Yes, in fact the initiative is happening nationwide, we have a community station in Baja California Sur "Mares Circulares" and there is a hybrid in the center of the country in Pachuca Hidalgo "Ciudades Circulares".

-How did the initiative come about?  

-Of course, we are several actors from both the private sector and civil society organizations. We joined forces because we realized the need to permeate the cultural part, although there are already collection centers, one of the main objectives and the value of adding this project is to focus on the cultural and educational part, it is not only about telling people that you can come and deposit your materials here, but also that they can understand the social impact, the environmental impact, beyond the economic impact and economic benefit that recycling brings with it.

-The main idea is to make people aware of the problems that exist?

- Exactly, I totally agree, that is the point, the value that we have in the station, since the beginning of the project planning, from the moment of the conception we were already planning the community and social part, approaching the community to tell them about the importance of having in their lives, of having the habit of recycling and not only recycling but of taking care of the environment in general. Recycling is a step in waste management, clearly it is not the first link and it is very important that people understand where recycling comes from, what other things can be recycled where we are at the island level and it is also a great challenge to do this, the island being a limited place has its own problems and so with this context we need to propose certain solutions.

-In La Paz Baja California Sur there is also another Mares Circulares Community Station, and since it is the first station, how long have you been there, how has it been going, what have the results been?  

- Yes, it was inaugurated a month and a half, two months ago, the response has been good, also something innovative in the north, it seems that here there are no such programs, there have been projects that combine the community part, the recycling part, it has had a good acceptance from the community, clearly there are many doubts, from the people who are adapting, also how this dynamic is, and in turn this project is also adapting to the local context in La Paz and in your case here in Cozumel.

-What is the age group that is most accepting of this project in La Paz?

- The truth is that there has been a diversity of people, in our internal planning is to include all audiences, we are interested in working with children, with institutions, with youth and also with adults, I would consider that the number of people who come to the station is very diverse.

-Are the children more receptive to this new way of using recycling?

-Yes, children are very attentive to everything, they are very aware of the problems they see where they live, in schools, communities, homes, in their localities, so they, they are very participative, if you really get close to them they even explain to you, it is a project that will also focus on the participation of children. as I mentioned before, they will end up teaching us here at the station.

-Are you going to approach schools in the public and private educational system to give your talks?

-Yes, in fact we are in talks with public institutions and we will do it in due time with the private ones, because we are interested in permeating the educational part and the recyclable component to make institutions that house many people who generate a large amount of waste, so the interest of the station is to support them in this collection of recycled materials. 

- In the area of making art with recycled materials, how do you plan to operate it, the process? 

-This is a space open to art, to green entrepreneurship, we have a physical space where you can hold talks, workshops of other organizations that come to show the work they have done that are starting in this process of entrepreneurship and say we need a physical space, to be heard seen through social networks we will be publishing these initiatives to have a greater reach and also from us there is something that we can help everyone is welcome.

- This space is very large, can you do art exhibitions, are you open to the Cozumel community of artists to come and exhibit and sell their works related to these themes? 

-It is going to be an open space to exhibit art, to show what they have worked on, as I was saying we have already had approaches with other organizations and soon in August there will be several activities and events in which these other organizations can show the art and enterprises they are working on. 

-Do you want to add anything else to the interview?

-I want to invite you to the next event, Festival Mares Circulares, which will take place on July 30 at 5:00 p.m. here in our physical space between 120th and Ave. 1 Sur, Colonia Juan Bautista de la Vega, and invite you to start collecting and preparing your materials, because there will be many dynamics related to the collection of materials and an exchange.
