Congratulations to the Art worker.
The present exhibition is a compilation of 19 pictorial works on paper and 4 canvases, which function as notes in the diary of the artist's dreams, which she describes as visual poems. The narrative contained in the work progresses chronologically in the manner of a personal diary, where the descriptive poetics add, by way of reflections or thoughts, an added meaning to its reading. Part of the result of these introspections into Veronica's dreamlike world comes from a strong observation of her inner self, the awakening of consciousness after a time of immobility and uncertainty about the future that awaits humanity. The period of the pandemic and post pandemic, have been key points in the history of humanity, especially in the case of artists, as it has allowed them to produce from consciousness in isolation and in many cases the result raises questions by putting under the flashlight proposals to find solutions to social and human crises. It is at this point that the series DREAMS describes through organic forms, colors, textures, fantastic characters, mythological creatures, among many more elements, the internal processes of spiritual reflection, of connection of dualities, feminine and masculine principles as part of the whole, of observation towards the internal traveling twisted and infinite paths that transcend in time and space. To understand that our carnality is part of our human condition but not more important than our spirituality, to understand that we are the result of cultural and generational conditioning, but that at the same time we have the capacity to rethink and modify ourselves constantly with the intention of being better every day, to assume ourselves as beings of light that connected with universal love we can transcend earthly boundaries, travel through the subconscious and fly in freedom. The series "SOÑANDO" by Verónica Ugalde, is an ode to love, to the carnal and spiritual connection, where butterflies as mutable symbols give knowledge to the main characters, the snail (I am my body and I am my home) and the peacock (the bird of beautiful plumage that still does not know how to fly).
