Buen proyecto de "Noche de Artistas"

Interesante presenciar que el arte, sus protagonistas y promotores  transitan sin detenerse en la Isla, que esta comunidad se mueve, que fluye, buscando alternativas y propuestas como es el caso de Noche de Artistas, que resulta un buen proyecto, con buena planeación por sus organizadores Atlantis Submarines Cozumel y para quien presto su espacio restaurante Sereno. Se corrabora lo que es una constante en el mundo del arte en  los espacios alternos a la ortodoxia;  esos impulsos independientes que se manifiestan atrayentes por su emotividad, colaboración y su retroalimentación creativa fresca e interesante que impulsa tanto al creador de arte y al público a interesarse a participar en la evolución del arte. Felicidades a todos ellos que conformaron "Noche de Artistas".

 Entrevista a María Aguilar fotógrafa participante en la actividad Cultural 

-Me llamo María Aguilar y soy soy fotógrafa de tiempo completo

-¿Donde estudiaste?

-Estudie en la Universidad de Guadalajara la (UDG) estudie artes visuales. Nací en Cozumel pero me fui a realizar mis estudios fuera de la isla.

-¿Por qué la fotografía?

-Siempre desde niña fui introvertida, pero muy creativa me encantaba dibujar, pintar y esto era como mi mundo, a los 16 años me regalaron mi primer cámara y fue una ventana nueva para mí, ahora puedo plasmar todos los momentos que yo veo que nadie más ve, pero que yo me doy cuenta y los puedo plasmar, los tengo tangibles quedarme con ese momento para siempre, algo que la pintura y el dibujo no me daban, una conexión mas directa con mi entorno, con las personas de ahí, desde ese entonces  no pare de tomar fotos. 

-¿Fue un medio de comunicación interna?

-Sí

-¿Que es lo que más te gusta de la fotografía, es decir que especialidad?

-Me gusta mucho el retrato, pero me gusta más el ensayo fotográfico o sea transmitir un mensaje a través de una historia , no solo retratar el atardecer por que esta bonito, lo que yo quiero hacer es contar historias, como veo al mundo como lo represento, por ejemplo ahora que tengo una conexión muy fuerte con el mar. 

-¿Como esta obra que presentas aquí sobre el mar? 

-Sí, después de varios años regrese a la isla  y me enamore nuevamente de ella.

-¿Cuántas exposiciones llevas aquí en Cozumel? 

-Esta es la tercera exposición en Cozumel

-¿Que opinas de lo que se esta presentando aquí en esta noche?

-Se me hace muy bonito que haya personas con diferentes disciplinas y diferentes mensajes que muestren su trabajo, admiro mucho a las personas que se animan a hacer este tipo de cosas, que muestran su trabajo, yo admiro mucho a todos los artistas, para mi es como un reto.

- ¿Cuándo fue la última vez que visitaste el museo de la isla de Cozumel, te gustaría exhibir tu trabajo ahí?

-Sería una oportunidad linda, me da nervio pero sí, lo visite por ultima vez creo hace dos años.

-¿Lo conoces ahora después de su remodelación? 

-No, pero tengo que ir

-¿Que te gustaría que hubiera aquí en Cozumel en cuanto al arte?

-Mas eventos, me gustas los eventos con temática o sea cuando hay un tema y todos tenemos que seguir el mismo tema y esto es interesante cuando ves la perspectiva de cada quien sobre el mismo tema, cada quien tiene sus ojos, sus creatividad y se me hace algo muy interesante, girando entorno a la misma palabra.

-¿Te parece que hay mucha gente valiosa aquí, con mucho potencial, con mucha creatividad?

-Creo que si hay bastantes.

-¿Algo más que quieras agregar?

-Me hace feliz estar en un evento así, que la gente vea lo que a mi me hace feliz, lo que me inspira, lo que me motiva, que vea un poquito, no solo que vean lo de mis redes sociales que se acerquen que vean mis fotos impresas, que me pregunten, que se interesen que hay detrás de las fotos.

Entrevista a Mariela Ramos coordinadora de la actividad Cultural

- Mi nombre es Mariela Ramos y soy supervisora de Atlantis Submarines Cozumel

-Platícame de este proyecto por favor

-Bueno este proyecto inicio casi casi cuando ya estamos dentro de la pandemia. En el área de Atlantis tenemos el área de sustentabilidad, se trabaja con la parte económica, social y ambiental, parte de nuestro trabajo es con la comunidad, con la sociedad de Cozumel y regresarle a la isla un poco de lo que nosotros tomamos, ahora si que nosotros trabajamos directamente con el arrecife.

Como apoyo a los artistas locales descubrimos que en Cozumel no hay tantos lugares donde ellos tengan oportunidad sobre su trabajo y oportunidad de venta es así que empezamos con el programa Artista del Mes, el cual vamos a casi cumplir dos años. Los artistas de Cozumel tienen la oportunidad de exponer su trabajo durante un mes en nuestra boutique con oportunidad de venta, es un apoyo que nosotros les damos a los artistas locales, realmente como un apoyo, no es nada monetario para la empresa y la verdad se ha hecho una comunidad de artistas de gente que no tenía oportunidad de exponer su trabajo, gente que no se conocía entre ellos, que han hecho conexiones con artistas, casi siempre tratamos de enfocarlo el arte que está enfocado en el mar, en los arrecifes, en la isla, algunas hacen trabajo del submarino. También parte del trabajo de estos artistas está siendo parte de un pequeño museo, que nosotros tenemos en Atlantis entonces se está quedando también su arte.

-¿Cómo ha sido la respuesta de los artistas?

-La respuesta de los artistas ha sido muy buena, más que nada porque no hay espacios para ellos, para que ellos expongan sus trabajos y una parte para ellos es muy atractiva, porque nosotros no pedimos alguna comisión simplemente lo estamos haciendo por apoyo al artista local, para que exponga su arte tanto para el turista que nosotros tenemos visitando nuestro submarino sale de Cozumel como para los que viven en la isla  entonces esa es una parte, un plus y que a ellos le llaman muchísimo su atención.

-¿Hay entonces buen público?

-Sí, sí hay público realmente mes con mes los artistas si venden su arte a partir que inicio el programa del artista del mes, decidimos hacer un evento final de todos los artistas que han participado durante el año que le llamamos Noche de Artistas y que este es el segundo año, juntamos a todos los artistas del año que se conozcan entre ellos, darles un espacio una vez más, que ellos expongan su trabajo, que la gente de Cozumel los Conozca y tengan oportunidad de venta.

Esta noche de artistas en esta ocasión decidimos sacarlo de Atlantis, la primera fue el año pasado en nuestras instalaciones, este año quisimos incluir a alguien más, incluir más colaboraciones empezarlo a sacarlo de las instalaciones de Atlantis para que más gente venga y lo conozca, exista más participación, un espacio más para los artistas locales.

- ¿Por qué decidieron aquí en Sereno?

-Porque decidimos hacerlo con una vista que nos gustara, aprovechar los atardeceres que nos da Cozumel, y un lugar que tuviera en común, como podría llamarse tener la vibra que queremos transmitir con esta Noche del Artistas que es muy relajada, con mucho de amistad, mucho de cooperación, el darnos a conocernos de los que estamos en Cozumel y platicando con Sereno, le gusto muchísimo el proyecto, confiaron en el proyecto y es por eso que decidimos traerlo en Sereno.

-¿Cuantos artistas tienen?

Tenemos aproximadamente aquí en Sereno 16 artistas que ya en total ha sido ya en dos años tenemos 20 artistas y bueno con este tipo de eventos también hemos conectado con otros artistas y para todos artistas que se interesen en participar estamos abiertos a darles la oportunidad a cualquiera artista que se acerque a nosotros, realmente hacemos la búsqueda de redes sociales entre artistas ellos se comunican sobre el evento . Quien este realmente interesado que se acerque a Atlantis para ser participe en esta actividad.

-¿Sientes que falta más difusión?

-Pues siento que faltan espacios para los artistas, no hay espacio para los artistas locales entonces más que nada siento que falta espacios para que ellos puedan exponer su trabajo.

-¡Cuántos espacios conoces?

-El museo y a lo mejor uno restaurante y ya. Y las actividades que ellos mismo hacen en las calles, es ahí donde yo he conocido bastantes artistas que trabajan, que participan con nosotros.

-¿Que te gustaría que hubiera en la isla?

-Pues un espacio, que hubiera un espacio para ellos, más actividades como ésta, porque al final del día yo lo veo como parte de una convivencia, de hacer algo diferente en la isla, nuestra isla nos ofrece el mar y los arrecifes y creo que hay que hacer una diversificación de actividades, algo que no tenemos mucho en la isla, que a veces las personas que vivimos aquí buscamos que hacer, no tenemos muchos lugares para elegir e ir a ver el arte, ver una pintura, una fotografía.

-¿Estas abierta a las Alianzas? 

- Si, claro que sí, de hecho todas las actividades que hacemos por parte de Atlantis  las áreas de sustentabilidad desde hacer limpiezas de playas, realizamos carreras y todo ese tipo de actividades, de buscar artistas siempre buscamos la colaboración, porque creemos  cien por ciento que entre colaboraciones se hace un trabajo más fuerte y llegamos a más gente entonces realmente en Atlantis hay apoyo desde nuestra gerencia y todos nuestros colaboradores que participan en este tipo de actividades a colaborar con más empresas, más asociaciones con gente que se una a nuestras actividades

 Interview with María Aguilar, photographer participating in the Cultural Activity 

My name is María Aguilar and I am a full-time photographer.

-Where did you study?

-I studied visual arts at the University of Guadalajara (UDG). I was born in Cozumel but I went to study off the island.

-Why photography?

-I was always introverted since I was a child, but very creative, I loved to draw, paint and this was like my world, at 16 years old I got my first camera and it was a new window for me, now I can capture all the moments that I see that nobody else sees, but that I realize and I can capture them, I have them tangible, I can keep that moment forever, something that painting and drawing did not give me, a more direct connection with my environment, with the people there, since then I did not stop taking pictures. 

-Was it a means of internal communication?

-Yes

-What do you like most about photography, that is to say, what is your specialty?

-I like portraits very much, but I like more the photographic essay, that is to say, to transmit a message through a story, not only to portray the sunset because it is beautiful, what I want to do is to tell stories, how I see the world, how I represent it, for example now that I have a very strong connection with the sea. 

-Like this work you are presenting here about the sea? 

-Yes, after several years I returned to the island and I fell in love with it again.

-How many exhibitions have you been here in Cozumel? 

-This is the third exhibition in Cozumel.

-What do you think of what is being presented here tonight?

-I think it is very nice that there are people with different disciplines and different messages showing their work, I admire very much the people who are encouraged to do this kind of things, to show their work, I admire all the artists, for me it is like a challenge.

- When was the last time you visited the museum on the island of Cozumel, would you like to exhibit your work there?

-It would be a nice opportunity, it makes me nervous but yes, I visited it for the last time I think two years ago.

-Do you know it now after its remodeling? 

-No, but I have to go.

-What would you like to see here in Cozumel in terms of art?

-More events, I like themed events, I mean when there is a theme and we all have to follow the same theme and this is interesting when you see everyone's perspective on the same theme, everyone has their own eyes, their own creativity and I find it very interesting, revolving around the same word.

-Do you think there are many valuable people here, with a lot of potential, with a lot of creativity?

-I think there are quite a few.

-Anything else you would like to add?

-It makes me happy to be in an event like this, that people see what makes me happy, what inspires me, what motivates me, that they see a little bit, not only that they see my social networks, that they come to see my printed photos, that they ask me, that they are interested in what is behind the photos.

Interview with Mariela Ramos, Cultural Activity Coordinator

- My name is Mariela Ramos and I am the supervisor of Atlantis Submarines Cozumel.

-Please tell me about this project.

-Well this project started almost when we are already inside the pandemic. In the area of Atlantis we have the area of sustainability, we work with the economic, social and environmental part, part of our work is with the community, with the society of Cozumel and give back to the island a little of what we take, now we work directly with the reef.

To support local artists we discovered that in Cozumel there are not so many places where they have the opportunity to show their work and sell it, that's why we started the Artist of the Month program, which is almost two years old. Cozumel artists have the opportunity to exhibit their work for a month in our boutique with the opportunity to sell, it is a support that we give to local artists, really as a support, it is nothing monetary for the company and the truth has made a community of artists of people who had no opportunity to exhibit their work, people who did not know each other, who have made connections with artists, we almost always try to focus on art that is focused on the sea, on the reefs, on the island, some do underwater work. Also some of the work of these artists is being part of a small museum that we have in Atlantis, so their art is also being kept.

-How has the artists' response been?

-The response of the artists has been very good, more than anything because there are no spaces for them to exhibit their work, and part of it is very attractive for them, because we are not asking for any commission, we are simply doing it to support the local artist, so that they can exhibit their art for the tourists that we have visiting our submarine leaving Cozumel and for those who live on the island, so that is a part, a plus and that attracts a lot of their attention.

-Is there a good audience?

-Yes, yes there really is an audience, month after month the artists do sell their art, from the beginning of the artist of the month program, we decided to make a final event of all the artists that have participated during the year, we call it Artist's Night and this is the second year, we gather all the artists of the year to get to know each other, give them a space once again, so they can exhibit their work, so the people of Cozumel can get to know them and have the opportunity to sell their work.

This artists' night this time we decided to take it out of Atlantis, the first one was last year in our facilities, this year we wanted to include someone else, to include more collaborations, to start taking it out of the Atlantis facilities so that more people come and get to know it, so that there is more participation, more space for local artists.

- Why did you decide to do it here in Sereno?

-Because we decided to do it with a view that we liked, to take advantage of the sunsets that Cozumel gives us, and a place that had in common, as it could be called, to have the vibe that we want to transmit with this Artists' Night, which is very relaxed, with a lot of friendship, a lot of cooperation, to get to know those of us who are in Cozumel and talking with Sereno, he liked the project very much, they trusted in the project and that is why we decided to bring it to Sereno.

-How many artists do you have?
