Cortnie Duran es originaria de Colorado, mujer alegre que ha practicado el arte para expresar la belleza de su visión del mundo y para aplicarlo en la cotidianidad laboral. Su amable y generoso carácter le ha permitido lograr el éxito en esta actividad como fue la gerencia en una asociación estadounidense cuya misión era ayudar a gente sin hogar y transgénero, así como desempeñarse en funciones de la salud mental y recuperación para la adicciones que normalmente va todo esto junto.

Define su producción plástica como arte experimental, que principalmente usa colores de agua y plumones "Utilizo estas técnicas muy seguido para arte terapéutico que aplico y cursos para superar el trauma y reducir el estrés, es muy divertido y los marcadores ayudan porque resaltan mucho los colores. Uso mucho colores porque así veo el mundo, veo afuera y veo demasiado color, mi casa, mi vestimenta esta llena de color"
Con la muy visible emotividad que irradio durante la entrevista Cortnie comenta que es autodidacta porque el arte ha estado en toda su vida, su madre y sus hermanas escriben poesía y su hermano es músico.
"Ellos tienen la belleza y yo tengo la creatividad, hace cuatro años estaba en una villa hacia un blog para escritores y empecé a pintar, ahora pinto en lugar de escribir, porque es mucho más divertido"

Al preguntarle sobre su producción artística en lo referente a la venta comentó "comencé a hacer arte visual hace 4 años mientras vivía en Nuevo México como una forma de curarme el dolor y la perdida, hasta hace poco, regalaba la mayor de mi arte, pero amigos y familiares me alentaron a venderlo, todo el arte que yo hice lo integre en un facebook Market que hice y la gente lo empezó a comprar. Hago demasiado arte, vendo y regalo arte de varios formatos desde tamaño postal, en cartas hasta formato grande. Ahora realizo arte porque estoy feliz y contenta, es la mejor manera para expresarlo"
Duran también incursionó en la poesía con publicaciones en algunas revistas y antologías poéticas en su país, pero piensa que se realiza mejor en el arte pictórico.

Expresa que en su próxima exposición a realizarse el sábado 4 de febrero en La Gloría botica de sabores esta muy emocionada y nerviosa por que es su primera exhibición "No soy muy buena, pero pienso que si lo disfruto todo estará muy bien en el show; disfrutar el ambiente de arte, la comida los amigos, pasar al jardín y admirarlo. Cozumel ahora es mi musa inspira a realizar maravillas, he conocido gente aquí como nunca antes, buenos amigos, gente que quiere celebrar el arte y gente que quiere celebrar la maravillosa comida y el amor"

Cortnie Duran is a native of Colorado, a joyful woman who has practiced art to express the beauty of her vision of the world and to apply it in her daily work. Her kind and generous character has allowed her to achieve success in this activity such as management in an American association whose mission was to help homeless and transgender people, as well as performing in mental health and addiction recovery functions that usually go together.
She defines his plastic production as experimental art, which mainly uses water colors and markers "I use these techniques very often for therapeutic art that I apply and courses to overcome trauma and reduce stress, it's a lot of fun and the markers help because they highlight the colors a lot. I use a lot of colors because that's how I see the world, I look outside and I see too much color, my house, my clothes are full of color."
With the very visible emotionality that radiated during the interview Cortnie comments that she is self-taught because art has been in her whole life, her mother and sisters write poetry and her brother is a musician.
"They have the beauty and I have the creativity, four years ago I was in a village towards a blog for writers and I started painting, now I paint instead of write, because it's much more fun."
When asked about his artistic production in regards to selling he commented "I started making visual art 4 years ago while living in New Mexico as a way to heal my pain and loss, until recently, I gave away most of my art, but friends and family encouraged me to sell it, all the art I made I integrated it into a facebook Market I made and people started buying it. I make too much art, I sell and give away art in various formats from postcard size, on cards to large format. Now I make art because I am happy and content, it is the best way to express it".
Duran also dabbled in poetry with publications in some magazines and poetry anthologies in her country, but she thinks that she is better fulfilled in pictorial art.
She expresses that in her next exhibition to be held on Saturday February 4th at La Gloría botica de sabores she is very excited and nervous because it is her first exhibition "I am not very good, but I think that if I enjoy it everything will be great in the show; enjoy the art environment, the food, the friends, go to the garden and admire it. Cozumel is now my muse and inspires me to do wonders, I have met people here like never before, good friends, people who want to celebrate the art and people who want to celebrate the wonderful food and love"
Finally, the artist says goodbye, still more excited than in the beginning, saying "I have to do things like this, otherwise I don't feel good".
